Dr. Evangelia Balta is Assistant Professor at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Department of Public Administration, in Discipline “ Public Governance and Fiscal Administration”. Her scientific and research interests are mainly focused on the field of Public Administration and modern forms of governance with emphasis on fiscal governance. Born in Athens, she studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Law, carried on with her postgraduate studies on Public Finance at the University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne and on May 2009 she completed her doctoral thesis at the School of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with subject matter “Ex-ante control of public expenditure by the Court of Audit: from institution to dispute”, which was published in the same year by Sakkoulas Publications.

She has been a post-doctorate scholar of the State Scholarships Foundation, is the author of many publications in reputable Greek and international scientific journals and has published a monograph on the institution of the public accountant in the Greek public financial system (2016). She teaches at the Hellenic Open University and at the School of the National Centre for Public Administration & Local Government and is an Editor of the authoritative scientific periodical “Administrative Law Journal” and a member of the Board of Directors of the Administrative Studies’ Society.
