Dr. Antonis Chanos is Associate Professor at the Department of Public Administration of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, where he has been teaching since 2013. Law studies at the Democritus University of Thrace and postgraduate studies in Law, Philosophy and Sociology at the Westphälische Wilhelms-Universität, Münster (Germany), from which he received his PhD in law. He has taught at the Law School of the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany (1995-2001), at the Law School of the Democritus University of Thrace (1999 and 2001-2008) and at the General Law Department of Panteion University (2001-2013), as well as at the Police Academy (since 2001). His main research and teaching interests lie in the fields of Philosophy and Methodology of Law, Legal theory and Sociology of Law, Public Law  (especially Constitutional and European Law), as well as in the relationship between Law and Technology.

Dr. Chanos has published two monographs in german language and a large number of scientific articles and book chapters in Greek, German and English and has participated in many international conferences with lectures in these languages. He is co-editor of six edited volumes and member of the editorial team of the German journal “RECHTSTHEORIE. Zeitschrift für Logik und Juristische Methodenlehre, Allgemeine Rechts- und Staatslehre, Kommunikations-, Normen- und Handlungstheorie, Soziologie und Philosophie des Rechts”. He has taught in three Directions of Postgraduate Programs at the Panteion University, two of which he has co-founded: in the Direction “Criminal Law and Theory of Law” (General Department of Law of Panteion University, 2005-2013), in the Direction “Law, Technology and Economy” of the Postgraduate Program of the Department of Public Administration (since 2014), as well as in the Direction “Legal Culture” (of the same Postgraduate Program, 2012 and 2013). He is also an accredited mediator.
