Dr. Eleftherios Voglis is Assistant Professor of Civil Law and Methodology of Law at the Department of Public Administration of Panteion University. He prepared his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Claus-Wilhelm Canaris at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and was awarded the Doctorate Degree with the grade “summa cum laude”. The thesis subject is: “Kreditkündigung und Kreditverweigerung der Banken im Lichte von Treu und Glauben” and was published in the official series of books of the Law Faculty of the University of Munich (Münchener Universitätsschriften: Reihe der Juristischen Fakultät, Bd. 156). The printed copies have been sold out and it is extensively referred to, inter alia, in the Staudinger Kommentar and in the Münchener Kommentar. His research focuses on Civil Law and extends to issues of Legal Theory and Methodology of Law, as well as on issues related to Banking Law.

During his term at Panteion University he authored and published – in the form of a habilitation thesis – a monograph entitled “Diagnosis and filling of gaps in contracts”. He also published a monograph entitled “Floating rate” and several journal articles on special legal issues. He has actively contributed to the planning, study programme and teaching of the LL.M. Course in Law, Technology and Economy of the Department of Public Administration. Dr. Voglis combines (in a well balanced manner) academic research with practical experience and professional skills and competences. He is Legal Counsel at the Bank of Greece since 2001 and has participated in various law drafting committees.
