MSc in Legal and Administrative Science

The MSc operates since the academic year 2018-19. It has three directions: a) National and Union Administration, b) Administrative Science and Public Management and c) Law, Technology and Economy.

The purpose of the programme is to highlight and study the interdisciplinarity of issues related to Legal Science, Administrative Science and Public Administration. Therefore, its aim is to provide specialized scientific knowledge and familiarize postgraduate students with modern research methodology in terms of the scientific disciplines of Public Administration and in particular in matters of National and Union Administration, Administrative Science and Public Management, and Law, Technology and Economy.

The postgraduate students of the Programme who successfully complete their studies receive a Postgraduate Specialization Diploma in “Legal and Administrative Science”. The duration of studies required for obtaining the Diploma is three (3) semesters.

 

Structure and Courses

DIRECTION: NATIONAL AND UNION ADMINISTRATION

First Semester (Each course is compulsory and takes 7.5 ECTS)

  1. Specific issues of European integration
  2. European Governance Systems (Classical standards and e-government)
  3. Regional policy and Local Government
  4. Transparency in administrative activity

Second Semester (Each course is compulsory and takes 7.5 ECTS)

  1. Administrative Law under the influence of Union Law
  2. The CFSP and the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice
  3. The financial organization within the European Union
  4. European Commercial Law

Third Semester

Diploma Thesis (30 ECTS)

 

DIRECTION: LAW, TECHNOLOGY AND ECONOMY

First Semester (Each course is compulsory and takes 7.5 ECTS)

  1. Methods of interpretation and judicial development of the law
  2. Special Issues of Obligation Law
  3. Law and Technology
  4. Public law and economic crisis

Second Semester (Each course is compulsory and takes 7.5 ECTS)

  1. Public procurement and state aid
  2. The impact of European law on the domestic legal order
  3. Public Economic Law
  4. Interaction of private and public law

Third Semester

MSc in Economic Science

The main objective of the Postgraduate Program (MSc) “Economic Science” of the Department of Public Administration is the teaching, research and promotion of issues related to Economic Science. The program provides specialized scientific knowledge, to familiarize students with modern research methodology, and to produce high-skill graduates for both theoretical and empirical research work. Graduates can work in universities, research institutes, public administration bodies, and public and private sector units. The duration of studies, including the preparation and defence of the Thesis, is four (4) academic semesters (120 ECTS).
