Chara Vavoura is Assistant Professor of International Economic Theory and Policy at the Department of Public Administration of Panteion University. She was educated at the Athens University of Economics and Business, GR (BA and MSc in Economics) and the University of Oxford, UK (MPhil in Economics) and went on to receive her PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham, UK in 2018.  In 2019 she was appointed a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Division of History, Economic Development, and International Economics of the Department of Economics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, GR working on international trade under imperfect competition in the presence of large “superstar” firms.

Her research interests and published works are in the fields of International Trade Theory, Game Theory and Industrial Organisation, Economic Policy, and International Macroeconomics. She has also served as a peer reviewer on related topics. She has taught a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Greece and the UK.
